With 36 years in Private Practice, I have learned that every client I work with is unique. I utilize a  variety of methods like hypnotherapy and meditation, but you can be sure that none of these  techniques will take precedence over your verbal and non-verbal cues. I enjoy working with people  who are struggling with self-image, emotional issues, anger and anything that can get in the way of  expressing ourselves fully.

I have been in Private practice since 1982. In 1986 I founded Orca Hypnosis Seminars, now Orca  Institute, Canada's longest-running Counselling Hypnotherapy school. I am also a Certified Fitness  Trainer. I have a home office overlooking English Bay in Vancouver, BC as well as offering  sessions  online. My rate is $120.00 per Hr. and is covered by many extended health plans (check with your provider), Crime Victim's Assistance Plan (in BC) and others.

Stress-Self-esteem

From the time we are very small, we begin to get messages from parents, relatives, friend’s, coworkers, and media about who we are or who people think we should be. On occasion, it can be good supportive advice, but too often it doesn’t help us grow to our full potential. The result too often is that very few of us seem to reach our full potential or sometimes not even being aware that potential for growth exists within ourselves.

In many ways, we create our own limitations, based on the above. This brings up the question, is there another way to not only become more aware of our abilities but to implement them? We believe there are. Not just one way, because there are many ways to achieve the things we want in our lives.

What you will learn in this program is to apply methods, all focused to support you in learning more about what you can achieve. Deep relaxation or hypnosis allows us to learn and discover our potential and increase our ability to move within ourselves and learn so much about who we are. As this occurs throughout the sessions and with support ideas and creativity come with these.

Phobias

A phobia is an irrational fear. There is a big list of phobias and many of us have one or two to different degrees of intensity. Sometimes a phobia becomes so intense that it becomes a problem. It can interfere with our ability to function and affect us in profound mental and physical ways. There are physical causation’s for some phobias, but most are emotionally based.

Hypnosis can be very beneficial in this area as a means to create a state where the cause of the phobia can be near, but you can learn to remain calm and focused even while this is occurring. Phobias are different for every person and no two people respond to even the same phobia the same way.

In this program, as in all of our programs, we do not use a cookie-cutter approach, but rather see the uniqueness of each person in how they have chosen to respond to their particular phobia. We can then guide you through the process in a safe and supportive way helping you to become phobia-free.

Weight Control

Why do people gain weight? Why do some people find it easier to lose weight than others? What causes us to binge eat? What beliefs do we hold about ourselves and our weight? What is the proper diet? What kind of exercise is best? These are just some of the questions that arise when we look at the issue of weight loss and what you will learn as you move through our program.

In our weight loss program, you begin to realize that you really are in control and that you do have the ability to change patterns in your life, not only relating to weight but in how you see yourself. Hypnosis is an excellent tool to allow us to move inside and become aware of our tremendous capacity to make good, healthy, choices. Our program includes not just hypnosis and self-hypnosis, but also diet and exercise.

Smoking

Research has shown that accessing our ability to relax deeply allows us to become aware of the patterns and associations that we have with cigarettes.
In a session, we would start with going through and identify patterns and associations which occur in a typical day. We can then start attaining a better understanding of the key triggers that cause you to smoke.
In the sessions, you will learn to use self-hypnosis and meditative techniques not to so much remove anything but more to gain a better understanding and awareness of where your blocks are to becoming a non-smoker. I will be there to support you throughout this process, and as we move through these sessions you begin to realize that you have the power and skills to change, but maybe just lacked the tools.
